do you need the baro/map sensor?

does it need to be hooked up to the intake in a mass air car?

It SHOULD NOT be hooked up to the intake in a mass air car. It's supposed to be left open to sense atmospheric pressure (BAP is barometric absolute pressure) in a mass air car. In a speed density car it gets hooked up to the intake to sense manifold absolute pressure (MAP).
