Well yet agen the vert survived a near catistrofic failer!
I was driving on the high way and noticed my temp going up, so i flip the switch in my former ash tray turned hidden switch panal and and the fan kicks on. I proseed down the highway... and then notice the temp still climbing so I deside to stop and check it out. Well I want to know why the moment you relise that your temp is climbing it goes from hot to SUB ATOMIC!
I pull off the highway and shut her down coasting to a stop. Flip the hazzerds on and pop the hood. There is coolent all over the back of the motor. I look at the manifold and its a pritty shade of glowing red. I waited alitle while untill it cooled down and moved it to a frends house down the street fired up and ran like a champ. Next morning I came back and filled it up with coolent and drove it 10miles ack home didnt even get worm When i checked It out at home I found that the coolent line to the intake had droped down agenst the egr pipe and burned through. So I went in to the gerage and pulled one off one of my other motors and replaced it. Then I zip tied everything out of the way from any hot part of the motor, hoping this will never happen agen. I have found no damage to the motor at all.
This makes for:
2 engin fires
3 major over heats
1 miner accendint at 80mph(him not me, I was sitting still)
1 near electrical fire(still smells like burned wire )
2 trannys crapping out(one day will get a t-5 in her)
1 flat tire
1 flex plate braking in two at 75mph in the fastlane
and still running strong with out dropping a leak of oil.
DONT EVER LET SOME ONE TELL YOU A n/a 2.3L IS WORTHLESS-slow but unbrakeable, atleast I cant do it
