does an 89 2.3l auto have a rev limiter?

does an 89 2.3l auto have a rev limiter? i was playing with my new tach and shift light(for upcoming 5speed swap) and discovered i can not take it over 5k in park. so i was thinking rev limiter but didnt think the auto cars had them. i can do 5k+ when driving but not in park. if it is a rev limiter than does it kick in at a higher rpm wile driving and if it does than does any one know what rpm it hits at? well thanks for your time.

Mine's an 88 and I can get it over 5k in park. I'm not sure if the 89 is different, but I have no problem getting it over 5k.

Quite free-revving first of all...unless you want to kill it.

Yes, it's got a rev limiter at about 6500...

dont normaly do it but we all have our moments. i was just surprised to see it stop at 5k
