i know the lower is the 5.0 efi truck but what about the upper piece? does anybody know who made it and maybe some specs on it, i picked it up at a good price

Looks like an old school attempt at a short runner or bread box style intake. You're going to need a lot of air (like forced induction) to make that thing work well at all.

Yeah I'd say that was built for boost.

it came off a turbo'd car....how much boost are we talking about and what kind of rpm range?

You bought that off of craigslist didn't ya?

I remember seeing something like that a while ago on either Lima/Findlay or Toledo craigslist.

But yea, it is a homemade unit. I wouldn't use it unless you are swapping to some high flow heads and some type of forced induction.

swap the upper out for a system max... if i remember right the system max lower is a truck lower

Pretty close and it will bolt up, however the Holley lower is much, much better...they finally fixed all the issues with the truck lower and Vortech intake.

chrome rust-yeah i did buy it off craigslist, but i got a couple other parts with it also that i was mainly after. but also at the time i was for sure gonna run turbo on my vert but now in a little wishy washy about doing so.

srtthis-i was looking for a system max upper but i cant find one. i thought about using a system max setup over the explorer intake. im still gonna keep my eye out for an upper.
