Does anyone know what a Mustang GT "STANG" model is?

I was down at the local dealership today. They have a black 2008 Mustang GT Deluxe with aftermarket american racing wheels on it. On the window sticker, it said that the car was sold to Roush Industries. It included a few visual upgrades such as a small body kit, the rims, billet grill, chrome tail-light benzels, and custom black leather seats with red insets. It also had a red stripe along the rocker panels.
The sticker said that it started out as a Deluxe package, but they added all these extras and wanted only $28,900 for it. That sounds a bit low to me.
On the trunklid, it had a chrome emblem that said STANG in a strange font. There were no other badges on the car saying anything about Roush. The word STANG was also stitched on the leather seats. Has anyone heard of something like this?
This model is not on the Roush websight and it was totally 100% stock under the hood.
I took it for a testdrive and was dissapointed because the car was out of gas and sputtering 3 minutes into the drive, and the saleswoman never offered to fill it up while we had it. Plus, the damn steering wheel shook badly once I was up arround 35 to 40mph in third gear. Weird.
Anyone else seen one?

I agree with you guys. It's probably a one-off custom dealership car. On the big blue and white window sticker it really does say that it was sold to Roush Industries in some city I can't remember. Maybe it was rejected from them, I don't know.
I liked the looks of the car. Then I discovered two Shelby GT's in the showroom.
They are really nice! They only want $33,??? for them too.
I love the performance of my 2001GT with the Vortech and other goodies I have, however, after having the car since it was new, I'm getting the itch for something else.

A Shelby GT for $33,000 sounds way cheap. The list price is about $5,000 over the sticker for a normal, and usually fully equipped, GT.
That sounds like about $5,000 below sticker.
The Stang deal also sounds fishy. You can have the seats done and the emblem is available. The sold to Roush is the fishy part.
What does a normal premium GT go for at this dealer?

I've seen the normal Premium GT's stickered between $28,000 and $29,000 here.
Altoona is a small town in Central Pennsylvania where all the good jobs are gone.
Performance cars are not the hottest seller here.

Geez people keep getting fooled by these dealer aftermarket cars. They're just ploys to sell the remaining vehicles. Anything official you'll know about.

I had a dealer here in Oklahoma that only wanted $32 for the shelby GT or so I thought then when we sat down to do the numbers they revealed the extra $5000 "shelby package", alot of dealers around here are advertising the premium gt msrp for the price and when you come in to look they lay it on you...:bs:

When I bought my ROUSH used from the dealer I looked at all of the stangs, theres a sticker on the window that would say 29,00 for the shelby then you have to look at the front windsheild and it will say 49,000+ or whatever.

Don't buy that stang, seems if they hit 1 to many curbs to make it wabble like that.

That car is definitely a dealer knock off, trying to pass it off as a custom and rare version. Call them out on their BS. Then go buy a car somewhere else. One of the local dealerships here is doing that, they are modding stock GT's in their shop then marking up the price and sellign them as limited production cars, and people are buying them like crazy. I'll try to find some pics of them.
