Superstar, no. But mine does get a lot of attention. Right now, my car is down @ MPH and many ppl already asked me where it's at. I tell them it's either been stolen or totaled.
My neighbors must think I sold the thing. I bet they're happy too, since I can't wake them up in the morning, or late night. I'd love to see their faces when I get it back!
The only thing that keeps me actually enjoying my car fully is other people. In just the past 4 days I've had at least 5 people say something along the lines of "your car looks awesome!" Over time I guess I just start seeing only the flaws in my car so it's those comments that help me KINDA see the car others see it as. I still mainly see the flaws though.
Indeed owning one does make you a superstar, its like being in a parade all the time
However, driving one also means you are automatically racing everyone else on the road who is under the mistaken impression that their suv/minivan/crackerbox is fast

I think more often I have older guys ask "That your's? Can you handle that thing?" ..or "Make sure you're careful with that big engine there..."
I think maybe it's intimidating on the road?No one tries to "mess" with me on the road either.. I don't ever look over either though.
I do get the occasional trucker honk.
Other people probably assume the same thing, "ah someones letting their wife drive their car" or something. Who knows...I know up here it's a non stop day in day out event for me at every stoplight.
