i was wondering if it mattered where my msd box was located reason i ask is im trying to clean out my engine bay and thought of mounting it in the fender well but dont want it near any weather or dirt .so is it possible to mount my msd where my glove box would be ? does it need a good air flow or do the wires have to be a certain lenght or shorter to maintain good electrical signal..hope this isnt to confusing guess im asking if the msd is mounted in the car is it to far away to perform properly

You can lengthen the wires, but you have to use a larger gage wire than the one you're trying to lengthen.

I've been debating this myself. I want to mount it in the car. I have it under the passenger seat right now, but I haven't wired it. I'm looking for a way to route the wires to avoid any interference from the stereo.

I have seen many mustangs with the ignition box mounted in the car. Yes it does stay as cool but so far they don't seem to be having any issues. I have the digital 6 box and if thats what you have it is important to be able to get at it because you can set rev limitors and timing retards on the box itself. keep that in mind.

As with almost all electronic devices, the cooler you can keep it the better and longer it will last. So keep it away from the firewall and the headers. I believe there are a few people on here that have it tucked in the fenderwell.
