Does porting the stock MAF help any?

Just a question, cause a couple of friends did it and want me to do it but I'm not sure if it makes a difference or if it'll affect anything.

Don't do it. I ran back to back runs at the track with a stock MAF and a ported one and saw absolutely nothing change. Keep in mind that more often than not porting the stock meter can lead to a slight leaning out of the AF as more air is entering the engine than the meter thinks is. I wouldn't mess with it, there is no gain in doing so.

i cut the post in my stock one, and ported it out a little...... had nothing but problems with it after that, i did it after everyone told me not to.....lol got what i deserved

Don't do it. Porting is good for heads and intake s but it's not the way it works when it comes to MAFs.
