Subject: Does the 2010-2011 Mustang have a trunk release button??

We all know that the 2005-2009 S197 Mustang did not come with a trunk release button for some bizarre reason, but does the new 2010-2011 Mustang have a trunk release button in the glove compartment?? Lots of people are adding these trunk release buttons to their 2005-2009 S197 Mustangs (including myself), but I am curious to know whether the new 2010-2011 mustang has one. If so, Could someone please post a picture of the new trunk release button. If there isn't on in the new 2010-2011 Mustang, Could people please mention this as well.. I have not had access to the glove compartment of the new 2010-2011 Mustang to verify if there is one, or what it possibly looks like if one is actually there.

Thanks!

Tony K.

Do not have a picture at the moment, but yes at least the 2010 does. Not sure if the 2011 will have the same. Its located down at the left of the shifter. It actually has a pretty nice detail because instead of a generic trunk picture there is a picture of the 2010 rear end.

It's out in the open? Please say it's practically impossible to open accidentally.

Or will it be common to see 2010+ Mustangs rolling down the highway with an open trunklid flapping in the breeze?

It's conveniently placed on the console---up front where you'd never hit it by accident. Great when your wife comes out of the store w/all kinds of shopping, you're revving the engine & getting impatient to go & she needs to toss all those expensive goodies in the trunk
IMHO, in the glove box(as in my 95) was stupidly inconvenient.

Sadly I picked mine up about a week ago and have only been able to drive it once because of the awesome weather, but it was never a problem. It is recessed into the console with the hazard lights and traction control button.

This is the best picture I could find
