Ok....so I ran the codes and I got a PIP/stater failure...which is great cause my car would stall every now and then and sometimes have a difficult start.
My 95gt is my DD, so I was driving to work this morning (I have not been able to put in a new stater/pip yet).....and my car stalls....it took a few minutes to get it running again after about 10 tries or so. I drove it right home. I called Murrays cause I put in a reman dizzy 2 years ago, but I can't find the receipt. He tells me I am screwed with no receipt, but they sell the PIP for $17 and a gear puller for $8.....so I give it a try and I could net remove the gear for nothing....I think the puller was too big....so I took the dizzy back up to Murrays and show them where it has a "reman" stamp on it....they recognize it and tell me they can replace the dizzy for free because it is a lifetime warrenty. So I give them back the PIP and the gear puller for a refund.....BUT, they have to order the dizzy and won't have it til tomorrow or so.
I went home and put my old dizzy back in and drove it to work (25 miles).
I need to drive to work again tomorrow, then put the new dizzy in after work tomorrow.......
My question is......how long til the PIP/dizzy/stater will give up totally and not start?.....Is it something that will eventually start each time, or does it eventually die for good?
I really don't want to get stranded driving to or from work til I can replace the dizzy/stater/pip.
Thanks....I am at work now.....hopefully I will make it home.....lol
