So I'm having plans to get my first mustang but I want to plan things out first. I saw a turbo coupe rearend in a yard for $51, but I want to know if this all sounds right before I get it. I know the axles are 3/4 inch longer and I dont want to mess with the lines,pv, and mc to go disc brake, so could I keep my drum brakes, use the one side ranger axles, and 5 lug ranger drums. This would affectively give me a standard width, 5 lug, drum brake, 28 spline, 3.73 gear, posi 8.8 right? Let me know if this sounds right because I could have a completely rebuilt nice rearend for under $150.

You are correct. That is basically what I did. I got the Tc rear less calipers and rotors for $60 and used the Ranger axles with the modified Mark VII rear disc since I wanted to be able to run 17x9 wheels at some point. I built it up on some sawhorses and just swappped the rears one weekend. I sold my old 2.73 rear for $40 so I really got the gears for $20!

Good luck with it!
