I had the same question... I was sitting on the john enjoying the new issue of 5.0 mag, when I saw that. It says it messes with your fuel curve, timing... I would think this could be harmful too. I bet it is 25% increase on a stock engine with now timing advance and now tweaking. But I am curious too.

It is a part put out by ford as a piggyback unit for their computer. It allows you to manipulate the A/F ratio and to set the rev limiter. It takes out the bad stuff in the SN-95's. I know it really woke my car up. They are no longer made but you can find them pretty easy from $250-300. It is called the Ford Motorsport RPM Extender. Do a google search to get all the good info on it.

They feed false info to the ECU. This is intended to make the car run at higher power, but it is really just lying to the ECU and is not at all efficient.
No store bought chip is worth the money. A dyno tuned chip would be worth it.
