Hey, does the Trac Control in an AOD 2000 stang really make a difference? How does it compare to say a 1999 GT w/o Trac? Thanks!

I have an 03 with traction control and it automaticly comes on when you start the car. (you can disengage it by pushing the appropiate button) I got on it going around a turn and my car felt like it broke. and I saw the traction light come on. I assume it was stopping my car from fish tailing. I usually turn it off driving around and leaving it on during those rainy days

Its much slower straight line with trac on. Kills engine spark when wheels spin at all, so basically you stop accelerating for a second or two when aggressively shifting between 1st and 2nd. Sometimes between 2nd and 3rd too. Yuck. I turn it off unless its raining.

in my 01 the TC comes on whenever it detects wheel spin. whether it's straight, turning, reverse etc...

i just keep mine off even in the snow. i just find it easier to control the car without it.

traction control has nothing to do with auto vs manual. In either, if the wheels spin, the engine will bog enough to keep them from spinning. Doesn't matter if it's auto or manual.

I know, I mean like from a dead stop, and you romp on the gas in an auto the tires only chirp a bit not really spin, will it make a noticable difference with Trac on/off? Like do the pre 2000 stangs have the trac always on or not ever on?

I usually leave the traction control off all the time unless it's raining
or icy out. I've never mashed it with the tc on so I don't know if
it affects it or not. I think I'll go out tomorow and do both.
