Does your 05-06 have idle issues?

I just bought a used 05 GT with 8K miles, here are the issues, when started the rpms jump to 2-3K and hang there for a few seconds then falls till 900-1000 from a min or two then starts to surge between 600 and 900 rpm. Any Ideas? Anyone else experiencing something similar? Its really annoying, here are my mods with these mods C&L CAI, 1st gen SCT, 4.10s, Steeda motion plates, Bassani axel back, Steeda springs, tokico d-specs.

My best suggestion to you would be to do the good ole battery disconnect so that your car's computer can re-learn it's idle & fuel trim. Just disconnect the battery for 20-30 minutes, then hook it back up, start the car in neutral/park and let it run until it hits operating temperature, then turn on your a/c and run the car with that on for approx 1-2 minutes, then drive the car for 5-10 miles and I think that will take care of your problem.

I didn't know the 1st Gen SCT would even work with the new stangs...but anyways
You should not loose the tune. I don't even know if the "old disconnect battery" technique would even work for you(it might). Did you tune the car yourself? Ask the person who tuned or the person you got the tuner from if they messed with the timing at idle any. It wounds like the same issue a couple others re having with their 05 stangs. Yeah, my car gets "idlised" wherever I go.

Seriously, though, my car does something similar, ever since I put in the LFP throttle body. Doesn't get quite that high, though (3K rpm's). I'd check the tune in there and see if the idle rate has been set to something overly high (like 900 rpms).

I can't remember the stock idle level, but it's <700 rpms.

I have the same issue, I have a K&N intake, Predator canned tune and a Bassani X Pipe, does anyone have any suggestions?

Ok well I think I got it fixed, I reinstalled my factory tune and then put back in the 93 octane tune, and it idles fine again...You may want to try that.

No, you will not loose your tune if you disconnect the battery.
