Dome Light Problem!

Ok, here is an indepth description of my problem.

The dome light comes on without the switch interior light switch being turned on, (all the way to the left and then the click). With the light switch in any other poistion the dome light works properly. Turn it all the way to left dome light comes on and then turning the switch off it turns off. With the brights on, I also do not have this problem. Here is what i have done so far.

Checked the voltages on the light switch. D1 and D2 work properly on all modes of the switch. On D2, however, when the normal driving lights are turned on, i get a 4.5-5.2 volt feedback on D2, dome light relay, when there should be zero. I believe that this is keeping the keyless entry module powered so that the light stays on. Im not sure where the extra voltage could be coming from. Any suggestions welcome!

Do the map lights work?

I am trying to trouble shoot my dome light not working at all and unfortunately haven't had the chance to even trouble shoot why I get no 12 power at my lights.

i will be willing to bet your light switch is bad (the one for your headlights) if you have voltage at the lights and at the switch, everything works ok except for when your lights are off, i am going to put $1000 on the switch (figuratively speaking)

Same Problem

I've got the same problem with my car. And I thought I was the only one! I've already changed out my light switch and unless I just happened to get unlucky and get another bad one, it didn't do anything. I've been told to check inside the steering column at the circuits, but I've got no idea how to change it out or what to even change out. Please let me know what to do if you figure it out. Good luck.
