Check out this piece of junk I bought I Pate swap meet today. It was brand new in the box, never been opened, it was only 25$. Look at how everything lined up, it's useless.

Stay away from this box!

I put it together and it looked like this

So I took it back apart to find out why
This is when the engine mount pads are lined up. Look how far off the back pads are

In addition to that, only three wheels touch the ground. I've tried loosening all the bolts and playing with it but it will not line up.

Just pay good money for a good one.

Bwahahaha, sorry, but from the point of view of anyone but yourself, thats funny! I actually bought a cheap stand off ebay not too long ago. I think I paid like $35, plus more for some cheap wheels. The wheels kinda sucked, but the stand was pretty decent, and everything lined up nice. His ebay user name is grumpieoldman. (had to look it up)

I know, me and my friend were laughing about it too. It really is funny. I just thought I would let everyone know you get what you pay for.

On the bright side, I did buy another set of very nice Texas 1968 license plates to put on my wifes 68. Now we both have a set.

Lol. I paid not more than 40 bucks for mine brand new about 3 years ago and its seen its share of engines on it. Thats tuff luck for you brother

The box says it all: Made in China. Cheap engine stands can be dangerous: I had an engine on a stand and when I went to rotate it, the bolt holes in the stand elongated and the engine hit the concrete. Ouch.

I got a cheap engine hoist and stand at one of those traveling tool shows 2 years ago, but have yet too use (or even assemble) them. Now I'm really concerned as they're the exact same color blue as your engine cradle. It would really suck to lose the engine into the car while pulling it.

ha ha, I bought the same one off Ebay. I just slotted the mount for the block. No biggie.I also left all the bolt loose,bolted it to the engine and then tightened the craddle together.

looks like you can adjust the wheels a bit by shimiming it on the underside

just slot the holes and move on. No sense in getting mad when you knew it was a cheapie. If it works, it serves its purpose. Its like buying tools at harbor freight...they are cheap and you buy them anyways Most people that buy any metalworking tool at HF ends up building a bracing system for it so they dont break...but it was CHEAP

Lol, I accidentally stumbled on to this old thread.

You'll notice in my Fairlane progress thread ("My new project"), that this engine cradle was holding the 302 I put in it. It took about an hour of persuasion, and some pretty creative solutions, but I got it to work. It set on there for a couple of weeks, and the second I unbolted it, it went right back to being screwed up. I made a little table out of it, lol.
