You switch computers

I moved from an old pc running Win98 to a different pc running XP

That old pc was just great for talking to you guys and sharing data
from things I've found and done

I kinda had to move to XP for work reasons

anyway

All my tuning programs, data logging analyzer programs, maf xfer programs,
photo editor programs, and yada yada yada are no longer at my easy
disposal on this pc

I was looking at that recent dyno thread where Keith and Mike had their
pulls displayed ... which btw ... was really GREAT

I threw Mike's pull in my Excel File
and
I was gonna share some really good stuff
with you guys

but

All my data analyzer ... easy resize & crop ... easy copy & paste ...
and other junk is on that old pc or won't work with this different OS

I might load up Photo Shop for image editing
but
Thats kinda like using a cannon to kill a fly

I set up new computers for people all the time, and it really is a pain sometimes. Right now I've been waiting 3 weeks for some updated software because one of our customers is moving up from 98 to XP. They also have a 95 pc and an old Mac (date: 1992) that will be replaced.

Getting ready to build a new PC as I am about to shoot the HP I now have...its one of the first XP machine models (sometime around 01). My laptop is windows 2000...been a long time since I even saw 98. Your jumping like 2 OS's and 3 service pacs. To put that into perspective...its like going from a SD eec to a 94-95 eec, just a few things changed.

I am going to keep the XP as I want to hold off on Vista for a while...like the next OS release. Building the new PC to also handle HTPC duties so I am excited.

what makes me laugh...at work we run window's 2000 and all the software is cerca 2000. I QC/help manage a group in india (great group BTW) we own the company and they are basicly the outsourced data entry team. That group runs 03 software . They send us some reports in excell when we have conf. calls and we can not open it. Talk about a funny software situation. Tomorrow I get my dual 19in flat screens hooked up so that is a plus at least.

Yes ... Vista is V E R Y different

I've recently started doing IT work with a fellow who does a lot of
Server and Network work.

He has me doing the desktop support kind of tasks that come up
but
I gotta confess ... the network and server stuff is pretty cool

Having said that ... You can see why I kinda needed to move up to XP

I just built me a pc from throw away machines
but
Free is a price that is hard to beat

BTW ... Your 418 REALLY impressed me when I loaded it up with
several other combos

I took the image of the pull you posted to get as close as I could to
obtain numerical values so I could analyze it a bit more closely

yea i'm in the same boat my old laptop died and i went to vista and now i'm worried that my tweecer wont work with vista. i emailed the tweecer people but i still have no answer.

Yep. Mikes pull is why I went 414. its not alot of maintenance (once you get it running). Excellent low-mid-high..but especially low end. No power adder to tune or blow up the car although they nice when running right, but I've done that already. This time I wanted big c.i. (big block range c.i. that is)
