Are the doors on our mustangs very adjustable? I noticed on my car that the passenger side door angled in slightly on the top. Iit looks like I could loosen the 4 bolts on the door (not the frame bolts) and tilt it back (then adjust the striker area). Is that all there is to it?

Is it a lot harder than it sounds?

Thanks

In simple terms, no. However be aware that moving the door impacts the entire fit including window glass.

Ford won't do it for you even if the car's under warranty. They'll simply state matter-of-factly that it is "within spec". You'll either have to do it yourself or get a body shop to do it.

My car seems as though it was put together on a Monday morning or late Friday afternoon. The lines on my car are not as straight as I've seen on other Mustangs. I got no denial about the asymmetry or crooked lines from my Ford dealer, simply it's "within spec". Pisses me off. But I guess I'm just being picky. I paid good money for my car, shouldn't i expect it to be perfect?

Thanks, Yea, I had planned on adjusting the glass anyhow. I hoping to get rid of a little leak up front doing that.

You can adjust them, but it's a 2 person job. You can not adjust the windows independently of the doors.

I pulled the top of the door out this evening, and oddly enough it actually helped the window placement (I was having a minor leak problem before). My problem was the top position was pushed in about 1/4 of an inch or so. All I did was loosen up all four bolts holding the door and pulled it out until it lined up.

I poured a few cups of water over the door so hopefully the leak goes away too, if not I will adjust the window this weekend.

Thanks for the advice everyone.
