I wouldn't use anything like a "Ding-King". It pulled the paint off of this test door we had. It didn't take out the dent either. But they were small ones anyways.
I have a lot of little dents in my drivers door. I didn't/couldn't see them when we sanded it either. It doesn't look bad unless it is in the right light/glare.
