I am trying to install a new drivers side power door lock actuator in my 1986 Mustang GT convertible.
I drilled out the old rivet. (OOPS, later I read I could have reused the old bracket and just slipped the actuator out. No instructions came with this.)
I bought a rivet, but now see I don't have the giant rivet tool required. So, I found a short bolt that had the right threads and screwed it in, I added a nut on the inside of the door just to be sure.
The door lock actuator from FoxMustangRestoration is actually a generic Ford actuator that comes with a bunch of rods. It appears the shortest one is correct.
I have the actuator in place. I can lock/unlock a couple times then it just quits, unless I manually push it down, then it will work again a few times.
Any ideas to get this working properly so I can put the door panel back on and be done with this.
Thanks,
Sam
