hey guys, the other day I installed brand new 5.0 rest door lock actuators in my 91 lx..the install went without a hitch, however after I got everything back together I noticed the drivers side door didn't lock. the rod goes up and down just fine but the door doesn't actually lock. I pulled to door panel back off right away and it seemed like everything was working like it should..nothing was seized up and the mechanism looked just fine..both doors locked perfect before the actuators seized up the first time...what would have changed in door that would not allow the actuator to do its job? did I get a faulty actuator? help.

Does it lock with the key from the outside? The LRS door lock actuators have a bad rep on the net. Lots of complaints. Me personally I have had at least 3 new ones from them over the years that are so weak they won't lock the door. So, if the key works, the actuator is junk.

wonder how much it would cost to ship you a pair

Follow this link to fix your door lock actuator problems

You will need the Adobe Acrobat viewer which is also a free download – http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Stuck with door lock actuators that don't work and don't want to pay the $50+ for a new one? Tried the junkyard ones and found that they last six months and freeze up?

A new actuator for less than $7. Fix one side for $20, do both sides for only $28. I don't sell parts, I don’t make any money off of the upgrade, I just tell you how to do it cheaply and easily.

By the way, i am still using the same $4 actuators I bought in 2002 and this is the second Mustang I have installed them in! Beat that with your fancy replacements!
