My driver's side door lock is acting up. I just installed new solenoids about 6 months ago and i know they work. At first i thought it was an issue with my key, but after taking apart the door today i know it's not the key. All of my linkages seem to be hooked up properly so i don't think it's that either. It's almost like the hinge inside the door that moves with the key and lock solenoid is freezing up. I've sprayed a liberal amount of liquid wrench on it and it works until the first time i use the key to unlock the door. Any idea what the issue could be?

If you have not already done so, remove the inner door panel and watch the mechanism when you actuate the door lock switches. You will have to reconnect the switch wiring to make the actuator work. When you work the switch to move the actuator, you should see the binding in action. You may want to disconnect the actuator from the door lock mechanism and see if you can duplicate the problem.

Already done that. As far as i can tell it's not any connections on the linkage and i can see the actuator working, but it's not tripping the lever that connects between the actuator and the part that sticks out of the top of the door.

Hopefully it's not what happen to me. I thought I had a problem and long story short the rod that goes up threw the metal frame in the door was getting hung up because I didn't have the piece that screws on that rod. I felt pretty stupid when I finally held the rod in the center of the opening while hitting the lock button or using the key and it worked instantly.

I couldn't lock my DS door period when I got my car. The opener was jammed. When I removed the motor assy. the key worked perfectly, as did the button. When I got a new opener motor assy. it worked twice while testing (without installing the rivet which didn't come with it) then jammed creating the same issue.

I got my money back and left the DS door manual and the PSide electric. Not a big deal for me as don't have remote opener anyhow and always had to use a key to open doors. I seldom lock my convertible anyhow to save my top!!

I think most of those $20 Chinese multi fit replacements are crap. If I were to end up replacing mine I would get a quality OEM or do the clever last forever upgrade I saw on this board via Richter!!
