alright so my windows havent worked in a long time but today i made it work. the wires were out of order and i figured out the right order so... i made them work. however the old connectors that connected the wires to the switch i had to remove(they were full of superglue) so i stripped the wires, now i cant figure out how to make the wires stay on the switch any ideas, i have stripped wires and no connectors
HOW SHOULD I CONNECT THE WIRES TO THE SWITCH, THEY KEEP FALLING OUT.

also i made my door locks work(power locks) the passenger side switch will lock and unlock the doors, however the drivers side will not, the wires are in the correct positions but when i push the switch up or down the lights in the car dim, and the locks dont move
WHY WONT THE LOCKS WORK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, EVEN IF THEY WORK ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE?

please everyone help me, this has been a problem i have been trying to solve for months

I'm no expert, but I've seen some similar threads with possible fixes. The driver side switch might be bad, so you might want to try taking the switch off and cleaning the contacts. If that doesn't work, you might want to try replacing the switch. If this is not the fix, I think there's a possibility of the problem being with the connectors that are located in the driver side kick panel. I think that should get you going in the right direction. Hope this helps.

for your connectors (terminals): i have no idea what they look like. i would go to the parts store or the home center and try to find something that is close. like on my GT fog light switch, to mimic the small female spade terminals, i used tiny spades for telephones. gotta just think of different applications that might have something that would work.

for your actuator/switch issues:
i know on 87 on up, there is one ground wire in the middle of the door skin that supplies ground. check that you have that or something similar. i dont think either actuator would work w/o that wire, but worth checking.

since you have one side that works, i would check out each connection at the back of the switch when lock and unlock are activated, and then do the same on the driver side, and see what is different. that is how i would do it.

good luck, bud.

Zues go to a junkyard, if you can find one, get a car that is your year and cut the pigtails off the car in the yard. Then you will have the proper wiring and everything. Wish we would have thought of that before with the windows. You would have found out the probkem alot sooner.
As for the door lokc, it sounds like the actuator is jambed. After all the years in the car it could be a good possiblity.
Sorry for taking so long to respond, went back to work Tuesday....getting ready to run out the ddor now.
Glad you got the windows figured out.

alrighty guys no more worres i had the order all wrong. i decided to sauder(dont know how to spell it) all the wires to their terminals. well 3 hours and 20000 cuss words later..tuh duh. windows go up and down and the door locks work.. also the alarm was installed before i got my car, and the arm and disarm would lock and unlock the doors well by the end of trying to fix everything i was a little frustrated and i armed my alarm... holy @#%@R the locks went down i did it about 20 more times the locks go up and down. i dont know why but i dont complain. its awesome... also what kind of 1/4 do you think i run?

Zeus, im glad you got it figured out. and you only cussed like once every half second. you must use short words. :-)

your thoughts jump around more than a little kid's (1/4 time question)..

congrats.
