My passenger door lock doesnt work. Its the outside keyhole that doesnt work. How would I go about getting it fixed? Is it possible to be re-keyed? Also, my driverside power lock switches dont work and the passenger unlock switch doesnt work. The only one that works is the passenger lock switch. Any body know how to get it fixed. I already replaced the driver side switch and it didnt do anything. It looks ungentlemanly when I always get in the car first than my g/f because I have to open the door from the inside. Help me out here fellas. Thanks

So the key wont turn the lock cylinder? That's a sign of a frozen actuator.

I dont have any great ideas other than to start probing the terminals at the switch and at the actuators to see where continuity is lost.

IIRC, we use a 5 wire reverse polarity lock system, where ground is toggled back and forth. Do you have factory (or aftermarket) keyless entry? That can help with diagnostics.

For something like this, we need Shane.

Good luck John.

My passenger door does the same thing. My friend who had the car before me locked his keys in the car and has astate trooper "slim jim" it" open. He broke s little plastic piece that connected some stuff.

I have the factory lock system. When I started having problems you would have to push the switches a couple of times for them to work. Then they just stopped working. Im thinking of replacing the passenger side switch since the lock switch still works. If the passenger actuator is frozen how can I "unfreeze" it?

Either replace it or disconnect the linkage to you can manually use the lock. If the actuator is frozen, it keeps the key from working the lock.

Thanks buddy. Ill look up some prices for those actuators. The only reason I repalced the driver door switch is because my uncle has an account with a local Ford dealership and he got it for me at a good price.

Hey, does your uncle want an extra nephew?

I haven't done it yet on a '94-95, but on the fox I used a universal lock actuator (cost $3.38) when my passenger actuator crapped out. It took an hour to retrofit (if I did it again, it'd take about 10 minutes), and it saved me about 50 bucks.

Now on an SN, I bet you could do the same if the OEM actuator's really expensive. But like I said, I haven't done it yet to have any tips or insight. It's nice to perhaps have an alternative available if the actuator is priced outrageously.

Good luck.
