So my ma has locked her keys in her 06 GT a few times now, but keeps on trying to tell me that it hasn't been her fault. She says the doors have locked (with keys just sitting in the center console) right when she closes them, but not consistently.

The dealer she bought the car from just told her that the doors are supposed to lock when you start the car. I haven't seen this happen at all, so I don't know if it's true.

Does anyone know if the door locks have any sort of odd behavior, or if they're supposed to lock at anytime other than a person hitting a lock or lock button?

I have had them lock when I started the car with the door open then got out and shut the door, ( door still locked) locking myself out. But I just had to stop doing that, or hit the unlock button before I closed the door... but never by themselves..

yeah, i kind of think that she's talking crazy, but i'd like to get word from some more knowledgable people than myself. the problem is likely her inability to admit she locked her keys in her car, but who knows ... the car might be screwy, it might not

Why would you put your keys in the center console? If I am not driving, the keys are in my pocket.
