When you take off the door panel, on the backside my plastic clips have worn-out/broken the cardboard backing where they slide in. So when I put new clips in the holes and push the door panel back in they just pop right out of the door panel backing.
Zoomin is on track, my question is how do you reinforce or rebuild these holes in the door panel backing, so my clips don't fall out?
gotcha, in the past i have epoxied metal tabs with the cutout over the holes. flashing from home depot is thin and easy to cut. i used drill bits to cut the holes in the metal.
I used metal strapping for the reinforcement, then hot glue to hold it while the liquid nails hardened and cured. It sure can't hurt anything, hopefully will keep the panel tight to the door. I use a door panel tool, but still can't seem to get under all the clips before they pull out.
