Hey everyone. I was wondering if anybody has used the 50resto economy door panels or the expensive ones. Whats the difference. Are the expensive ones worth the extra $200.00 or not. Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you.

Depends on how much work and cutting you want to do. The deluxe one have the map pockets, speaker grilles and dew wipes on them already ( although i don't see the chrome strip that runs along the dew wipe like the factory) the cheap ones have nothing and no holes cut. that being said nothing fits like factory, I got map pocket deletes from them and had to play with them a little to get them to fit right. very easy to install but not like the factory still good product.

How bad are your panels? do they have tears in them? mine where really dirty, sagging map pockets and they where peeling from the backing. I took them apart and scrubbed them with simple green, reglued them and added pocket deletes and new speaker grilles. they came out totally new looking ( I took pics of the resto if you want to see) and it didn't cost very much. If yours are totally lunch then either go for the deluxe (but doubt the backing is has good as the factory) or find a decent used set that might just need a set of pockets, grilles and some cleaning, might be the better option.

I got their deluxe ones. Decent pieces. Fit well. Watch your cuts though. No idea on the others.

They're ok...not the best, not the worst.

However, I have never seen a door panel on an older car i liked, even from the factory.

I've personally used both on cars I've built, & I have to admit, the build-your-own economy version is a PITA. The deluxe door panels often sell themselves for simplicity reasons as well as they really aren't that bad of a deal.

For instance, lets say you needed all new appointments anyway. Map pockets, speaker grilles, inner door belts, & retaining push pins.

Economy door panels - 99.99
Assembly kit - 39.99
Speaker Grilles - 44.99
Inner door belts - 59.99
Map pockets - 94.99

Total - 339.95

Plus you'll spend the better part of a day putting it all together.

Deluxe door panels run 334.99 & can be on in an hour or less.

The inner door belt weatherstrip is an exact reproduction of the original & does have the chrome strip.

Yeah I stand corrected. It shows up better on the other colors. I was looking at the titanuim/smoke and it was very hard to see in those paticular pics vs the others.

It is pretty impossible to see, so I submitted a request to have new pictures taken with a few different detail shots.

Ever evolving process!

I've got no experience with any of those but have you tried searching for people parting out foxes in your area? I bet you could find a decent pair for cheaper. And cutting involved, probably just some clean up. It's worth a shot if you haven't tried yet.

Are the economy door panels ready to install minus cutting and adding grilles and stuff? Does it come with the aluminum upper and board backing?

No, they are a "build your own" version. It is the lower board & a full sheet of vinyl. You must reuse the aluminum upper from your stock door panels.
