i just bought a 67 mustang coupe with a 289 auto. runs great but i have a problem with the door, the driver side door will open from the inside but not from the outside. everything is connected and when you try to open it from the outside it seems like it just needs to move up a tiny bit more so it will open the door. what can the problem be?

My wife's '67 vert had a similar problem...but it was due to the latch being all gummed up. I pulled it out, degreased it, and lubed it up with lithium grease and now it works like "buttuh". Whole thing took about an hour.

TERRORIST HIJACK!!!

lol, yep im gonna have to hijack this thread. On my stangs passenger door, if you open it to about half way open, there is a wierd jerk( it opens then creates a popping motion upon a certain area and opens the rest of the way normaly). I didnt find any bent rods, nor did I find them greased up.

The rod that connects to the exterior door handle is adjustable. So remove the rod from the handle inside the door. Unscrew the rod a few turns and then reconnect it. Test and if still no workie try a few more turns.
