I replaced my door striker bolts last year and just discovered that there are two types/sizes of door striker bolts for Fords a metric and standard version, I bought the metric version last year.

The correct type is 7/16"-14 (part- Help! #38448) and the part of the striker that "catches" the door is slightly smaller on the metric version, as well as the threads are slightly smaller.

The kicker is that the wrong metric version will thread easily and will tighten snugly but will not hold the door steady.

I just replaced both of them and the difference was amazing, the doors don't move at all now.

Something to check if you've got rattles.

That's the first thing I did when I got my fox, both door strikers and hatch. The previous owner put some duct tape or some crap on them to try and "fix" it. I bought the correct parts from latemodelrestoration.com though, not those autozoo ones

I've used the bushings and the whole striker assembly from Autone or O'Reilly. The parts are made my motomite/dorman, commonly using the "Help" label. No problem from those that I can see.

I was unlucky with my first purchase. The "help!" section has several versions of the striker and when i bought mine there was only one option (Pepboys, I think) but Advance had several versions. The metric and standard versions have application overlaps so this is a head's up for future searchers.
