Have not posted in a while, my 1988 is all back together and runs well, few issues to resolve and thought I'd list them here and see what you think, I promise at least some pictures of her soon!

The car is a 1988 with a full Saleen kit and fresh dark green paint, upgraded T-5, 3.73 gears, moser axles, subframe connectors, monster diff cover with girdle, fresh motor build, stock crank/rods, aftermarket pistons, all fresh clevite bearings, E-cam, world junior heads, slightly tweaked cobra upper/lower, aftermarket CAI, throttle body, converted to mass air with 24 lb injectors and matched mass air meter, full MSD ignition, airomotive fpr and professional products fuel rails and harmonic balancer. Rotating assembly was balanced before build and a whole black interior was installed. Car has 245/45/zr16 rear and 245/60/zr16 front with matching Saleen rims. Here is what she still needs:

1. AC pumped down and tested/refilled, I live in FL so it MUST work.
2. She smells rich, really rich, I installed an a/f guage hitched to left 02 sensor computer wire and it says rich when the rpms get up(3500 plus) so that makes no sense, maybe 02s are worn out?
3. pulled codes 33,44,94 and it also said 02s were "sluggish"? hm those are all the codes I can get both running and not running. I suppose thats not bad considering it is the first time I did it all aside from motor assembly, and it is my first stang so its all good...
What do you guys think? Only got 100 miles on her so far so no e.t.'s yet, not till I get 100 or so trouble free, non-rich miles on her...

Get it TUNED..Matched mafs are old school and work SOMETIMES..

Most older 5.0 guys say there is a issue. But its about getting everything to work together..

A/f gauge stuck on the o2 sensor is no more than a pretty light show.Want to know real a/f get a wideband thats the only way to PROPERLY know your a/f.

I had those say codes before i got mine tuned, after that it ran great and i never seen those codes again.

Which code is for O2's being sluggish? As they age or get contaminated, they do lose amplitude and frequency, but I'm not aware of a standard for sluggish (I'm not being a smarty pants - I really am curious about this part of your post).

If you run an O/R pipe, it will smell stinky. Our noses are not very good at measuring emissions. Also be cognizant of paint and fluids burning off since you only have 100 miles on it.

Good luck.
