I am looking for the pic of that white s197 stang with the draglites on it that was posted on this site. I am looking into doing this and wanted to know what the owner did to make it happen. I cant find the pic no where, need help. Who owns it and can you post the pick.

I can tell you that Weld Draglites do not fit unless you do alot of caliper grinding in the rear. I think the fronts are working with like a 3/8 spacer. Lately guys have been using Jeg's version of draglites and prostars which look the same but the rears fit with no issues but the catch that some don't like is the fact that its a 15x8wheels with a 5.5 backspace, most want a 15x10.

rear 15x8 with 5.5 backspacing will work in the jegs wheels
front 15x4 with a 7/16th spacer i think i used. in the jegs wheels will work

JEGS Sport Lite and Sport Star Cast Aluminum Wheels - JEGS

JEGS 67001 - JEGS Sport Lite and Sport Star Cast Aluminum Wheels - JEGS

JEGS 67027 - JEGS Sport Lite and Sport Star Cast Aluminum Wheels - JEGS

should be perfect.

i run et style lugs in the front, you can use the stock lugs, but i like the design of the ET lug better how it has the shoulder.

as for tires i run a 165/15 up front. and with a 15x8 you can run like a 275/60/15. or a 275/50/15. depending on whats done to your car to get the best size.

Summit also has wheels that fit now, and they look really good. Priced around $100/each.

where did you get your lugs?

this is for sure the next thing i do to my car, fronts and rears @ 15, w/ e.t streets out back etc. I can forsee my 12.79 turning into 12.50's.

i could of sworn i saw a picture on another board. i actually think SVT performance. hes got a gt500 front end. but all i saw was the rears on there.

edit, and if thats the guy your thinking of, he did a crap load of grinding on the rear brakes, vs the 15x8 jegs set up that will bolt right up and then a spacer up front.

i got my lugs from a local speed shop. but i think any ET style lug should work.

i think these are the exact ones i have.

oh by the way, in case anyone didn't know. you need a thinwall socket for these style rims.

my dad has one so ive been using his, but i just picked up a flip socket from my works snap on dealer yesterday so i had my own.

the walls of the socket are smaller/thinner so it can fit in a tighter hole. the openings aren't that big on the rims, so using a regular socket you won't be able to tighten them all the way down, and you'll mar up the inside of the lug hole.

well i guess it depends on the manufacturer of the socket, but for my jegs rims, the 13/16th socket from craftsman is no good and the impact sockets from craftsman were even bigger yet.

I ordered mine from the snap on dealer, so my socket was expensive, but I didn't want to have to worry about it.

I'm pretty sure theres a lug wrench on jegs.com with a 13/16th socket that will fit into their rim.

This may not be what you are interested in, but I bought some Weld Draglite XPS series rims used. They are 16X8 and have no problem clearing the calipers. I believe the XPS series has been discontinued for a long time, but I have seen them for sale quite a bit. I am running 26X10.5X16 MT ET Streets on the rear with these.

I started researching draglites because I saw a few S197's at the local track with draglites and thought they only came in 14" & 15" sizes.
