Hey all, My name is Luca I have a stock 92 notchback. My question is, whats the differents between a bored 302 stroked, and a 351W bored & Stroked. When i say differents, i mean in money & Horse...

351 stroked is pretty much the same in terms of money as a 302 stroked the horsepower is different of course you get more from a 351 you'd have to get the headers and the oilpan and intake but if your gonna buy one for a 302 anyway it isnt that bad

a 351 or a stoker 351 will generally make more power than 302 based strokers...

Say your wanting to have the joys of having a 351. but are having trouble find the oil pan, a good rebuildable 351 engine, or the swap headers its just a big mess. got to mess with all the accesories also.

a great alternative is to stroke your 302 to 347, almost those 351 cubes you want, but you get the easy of using the same 302 style headers, pan and all the accessories, the engine will look just like a 302 but its got power hiding within.

almost cheaper to stroke a 302, a good rotating assembly can be had for a little over a grand. would cost lots more to build a decent 351, and have to get all the parts to do the swap.

The cost is going to be the same.

The only parts that you will replace when doing a serious 351w stroker (that would not be replaced for a 302 stroker), 1 bracket (less than $50) for p/s and an oil pan.

If you are going to build equivelant setups, and compare apples to apples, then the other parts would be new for both options.
flywheel
damper
injectors
intake

Check out my site (in my sig), I have a writeup on the 351w conversion in a fox.
