They aren't "gold plated," they're zinc coated. The coating rubs off where the pad makes contact, and the color fades a bit, but it protects the areas from rusting.

I have the same set and they're worth every penny, and really not that expensive at all for genuine Brembos.

im up for it...anyone wanna join??? they are fairly cheap already...and with a group purchase they will be a lil cheaper.....
