Drilling for the Emblems...

I'm not sure I want to drill the holes in my fenders for the new emblems - I want to grind the pins off the back, and stick 'em on with some double sided foam like they do on new cars.

Anyone tried it, or got any comments?

Anyone got a template for fitting them?

That sounds like a great idea...I wish I had done that. Check out 3M products, I'm sure they make something that would work...

thats the only way i put my emblems on, so they're temporary. Use the #M with a red/maroon backing, its very strong

Why would you need to drill new holes to replace emblems? Apparently, there is something I'm not aware of.

When you buy a repop it is not drilled.

A previous owner used a double sided tape or glue to fasten the medallions on the roof pillar on my '69 Fastback. Problem is, they are backward, and I can't get them off. So if you do that, remember to get it right. No crocked letters or misspellings.

3M tape is the only way to go. I would never drill holes in my car for an emblem, like you said just grind them off and then sitck them on. Prep the surface with something alcohol based and let it dry. Red backing 3M is strong like stated above. If it's wrong heat it up a little with a heat gun it will come off, and use a plastic razor blade if need be. (MAKE SURE IT"S PLASTIC) and something alcohol based will take the stickyness off and prep it again to stick it back on. Heat always help to stick 3m aswell if your are having problems. And if you screw up, screw up consistantly. HAHAHA!

There is a listing in one of the catalogs that have them with the tape already on them. My paln is the remove all of mine before paint see below.

??????? I think they are going after suppliers that are using the "Mustang" logo without a license agreement with FoMoCo. This does not affect individuals personal use of the Mustang name......at least not yet.

Acutely Ford changed the rules after 20 + years and now wont to shut down the very companies that have been supporting the hobby all these years with Fords blessing.
