I need help bad. Here is the car 1999 daewoo laganza, same gm 2.2l that are in the isuzu amigo and rodeo.

Problem: Car wont start, turns over fine, but no start.

Things I noticed: Fuel pressure is fine, but there is no spark... kinda. It sparks when the engine first starts turning over, then again when the engine stops turning over, but during cranking there is no spark.

Related?: when the key is left in the on position, with the car not running, the fuel pump constantly cycles on off on off. It is only off for like .5 second, then it runs for about 5, then it repeats the on off cycle.

My thoughts: I am thinking it is the crankshaft position sensor.

Any help or a direction to point me in for daewoo support I would be appreciative. Thanks guys!!

the starting procedure puts a large drain on the battery, which may affect the coil's juice. have you tried starting it with a jump, or used a charger that allows you to start a semi dead battery?
try an inductive tester for spark while cranking?
any codes?
if you think it is the crankshaft sensor, i dont think you would get spark at any time. you could check it with a VOM for correct values.

that is about all i got. good luck.

i agree check the ohms of the sensor and compare that to tolerances allowed and see where you are....

Put the car in park or nuetral, set the e-brake. Turn the key to on, then jump out the starter solenoid with a screwdriver. If it starts and runs then, you prolly have a faulty wire going to or from the igntion switch, or it could be the switch itself.
