my drive shaft on my 94 cobra is rubbing in two places: e brake line about a foot and a half from the rear and gas line about a foot from the rear (six inches apart or so).
So, today I received an adjustable pinion snubber and installed it. Still the rubbing continues. It is a lot worse when I am turning to the left at higher speeds. I have not been driving it for the last couple of weeks except for today to see if it was fixed.
It started doing this shortly after I brought it to an oil change place (so I could sneak under the car and really see what I got into). I bought the car about a month ago and it is FULL of surprises. To name a few: oil leaking out of valve cover gasket on driver side (the guy must've cleaned the engine really good before I got there. I just received the new gaskets today...), tail pipes are held in place by ropes (yeah... i know. I can't believe I missed that), driver window works when it feels like it, etc... lots more too...
Yesterday, I ordered new upper and lower rear control arms. I read somewhere that helped with someone elses problem. It can't hurt to replace those with the car being a 94 and having the stock bushings. Also, when I do this job. What else should I be replacing with the control arms?
At this point I am extremely disappointed that I ever bought the car but now I'm commited to it.
I plan on replacing the shocks, quadshocks, struts, etc. this winter. I just don't want to throw all this money at it at one time. Not really an issue but I hate to spend money I don't NEED to at the moment.
Any help on the drive shaft rubbing issue would be awesome as well as what parts I should replace with the control arms would be awesome!
Thanks
