obviously drove with his left hand while leaning to the right and exerting pressure to the right (if that makes sense). The driver seat is bent (seat back isn't straight). Is there a way to bend it back straight or do I have to get a new seat. I'm an old dude and that lean to the right is not how I drive

Thank in advance for any responses
Mac

retcav1sg:

Welcome to StangNet. Good people here. A few old goats (like me), too, so you have some company.

I suggest that you talk to your local body shop. Their upholstery guy should be able to give you some good advice. The junk yard (or MPAutoSalvage.com) may be able to help out with gently used seats in the same color.

HTH,

Chris

My seat in my old V-6 broke, the frame itsself inside and you can't just bend it back if that is what yours is as well. I just ditched it and got a really nice Corbeau and only replaced the driver seat. Yea it looked funky but I only had the car 6 more months and then I traded it off with the pos seat back in it and resold the Corbeau. I priced seats locally from junkyards and I found some problems, 1) Hardly anyone had ANY seats much less ones that matched mine. 2) The one pair I found they wanted 175 bucks for and had been sitting in the rain outside (no chance in hell I would pay that much for that).

Tear it apart and poke around, I've come to the conclusion that larger mustang owners end up breaking the seats, it's not really their fault since the seat frames are cheap. Sometimes you can fix them by welding broken parts or reinforcing the weak parts
