I believe a fuse is blown. everytime I push the button for the driver side window to go up..it doesnt and all I can hear is a click type noise coming from the fuse box located by the pedals....

I looked under there and see multible fuses..but I cant figure out which fuse needs to be replaced as they are not marked.. does anyone know which number fuse the driver side window is?

I think the fuses and what they operate is also written on the back of the fuse box, no? If not, Tom's right, it will be in the manual.

If you dont have the manual for some reason, let me know, and i'll try and take a picture of the fuse and fuse box for you from my car.

I had this same problem a few months ago. The driver side window would not go UP at all. It went down in the morning, and would not go back up for 2 days. I had to leave the car in the garage over the weekend in fear of someone looting it over night. And when i jumped back in the car monday morning, the driver side window went up. So the problem fixed itself. ... still dont know what the hell caused this.. maybe an intermitent short somewhere? Beats me, but it works now, and i dont need to buy anything for it

That clicking you probably hear is a relay. try checking and replacing the relay.

if it clicks the relay is working is either your window motor or regulator that took a chit

bang on the door while pressing the switch to raise it. don't bang on it to hard as to break the window. It may be stuck.

Gotta love mustangs
Sounds like slamming the door should be a TSB

right now the window is all the way down. When I push the buttom for it to go up...it does nothing and there is no click noise comming from the fuses under the steering colum. But when I push the button for the down position..I then hear the click noise from the fuse box under the steering colum. Its definetly not the fuse cause I replaced it with a new one and is still doing the same thing......

hope the bill is not to high once ford fixes the issue.

The click you hear whan pressing the Down switch is probably the "one touch down" relay located within the Generic Electronics Module (GEM). The GEM is mounted next to the fuse panel under the dash. The relay should not operate for window Up, so seems to be operating properly.

Your problem is most likely the switch or GEM. If the motor were bad, it should not run the windown down either.

If you hold your hand on the edge of the glass while operating the switch, can you feel anything . . . like a faint vibration or slight movement of the glass?

Same problem about a week ago...window would intermittently go down and not back up, sometimes not even down. Even had the banging of the door scenerio. Long story short...dropped $130 at my favorite Ford parts counter and got a new motor/regulator assembly (not including core charge). A little over an hour and a nasty sharp metal cut on my hand later the problem is fixed. They stocked like 5 of them so it must be a tad bit of a problem...

it's probally the motor, but remember if you end up testing the circuits, polarity reverses on this circuit, thats how the motor runs backwards to move the window down.

to see if its a switch/relay you could run +12V and -12v right to the motor and if it moves you know the motor is fine

Is the window all the way down?

My driver side window got stuck in the all-the-way-down position.

I did a search, and found that most people solve the problem by removing the door inside panel and hitting the window motor with a hammer.

That did the trick for me.

Since then, I never let either of my windows go all the way down.

lettting it go to the bottom did not cause that. a bad power window motor caused it. when you tap the motor you improve the conection and move the brushes a little to get off of a bad spot. sooner or later that motor will give out for good.

I don't know if it will work or not but slamming the door over and over does work 80% of the time on these cars. The motors get stuck. If slamming the door doesn't work take the door panel off and tap the motor with a hammer. That usually does the trick.

Ok, so i have had many problems with the ford window setup. First take the switches and soak in wd40. While the switches are soaking, take the door panel off. Once door panel off Pell away plastic. Take the connector off where it comes from window motor, take a 12v battery and touch the leads. Reversing polarity will reverse motor direction. If motor works, is not your issue. Once switches are good and soaked take out blow out excess. Put a switch in the switch block, with motor hooked back up, if it does the same thing is the blue gem box, that controls instant up or down.
I had the same problem, but mine got stuck down, rift before a 3 day down poor. So i manually, with battery, raised the window. Also only one switched worked. After cleaning they all work. Just had to replace the module gem. ALSO if advise as to slamming the door, just tap the door panel in bottom left hand corner ( this is where module is on inside of door panel)

Thank you! Third slam took care of this! First time in 13 years I've had this problem and a 10 year old thread solved it!
