Working on a 5 speed swap in my 91 vert, but....
I know the auto drive shaft will not work so will a driveshaft from a 5 speed V8 car work?
Also what is the center to center measurement for the 5 speed driveshaft?
Also will other cars driveshafts work, such as 86 turbocoupe, or 88 C-3 auto
or even a straight 6 Capri. These I have
Fellow I bought the trannys from has a habit of cutting the driveshafts to make the cars easier to move.
Gonna go look at a driveshaft tomorrow and would prefer to just measure and go.
Heard many wrong things and just want to get it going.
Thanks
Bruce

Not sure about some of them, But i DO know that my V8 FMS alum driveshaft fits my car Perfect, so the v8 and 4cyl are the same. I think the TC shafts are longer, but i dont know for sure.

A V8 5-speed driveshaft will work in a 2.3L 5 speed car. A turbo coupe driveshaft will be too long for a Mustang.

'88 C3 auto I assume you mean Mustang? The auto cars had a diffent number of splines in the transmission tailshaft than the 5 speeds. As for the capri I have no idea.

Some people

Went and looked at a couple of driveshafts tonight. Fellow swore they were manual tranny driveshafts....They were not!
Guy I got the trannys from swore that the only difference was the yoke..wrongo. So I have 2 yokes with driveshaft stubs on them.
If anyone has a measurement that I can use other than "not 43 1/4 center to center". Thanks forthe V8 info..that expands my options some.
I have a feeling that the manual shaft is longer otherwise getting one ut down would be a popular option.
