I just ordered $1400 worth of stuff from NPD today. I never knew uphostry and everythign can add up and cost so much!
Here's a partial list:

1) Mach 1 front seat uphostry, deluxe rear seat uphostry (TMI brand)

2) New Seat Foam ($150 a seat for 72 stangs :O )

3) New Mach 1 Grill and grill molding (they actually had them in stock inssead of having them on back order)

4) New Front of hood chrome strip

5) New Printed circuit (my old one started to separate and ruined all my work on enhancing the guage cluster lighting)

6) New turn Signal Switch (so i don't have to keep manually flashing the turn signals)

7) Hog Ring pliers and hog rings

8) new Door sill Plates and logos

9)Rear end lowering block kit (until i get around to redoing the entire suspension, then it's mid-leafs)

10) Misc interior parts such as window handles, etc.

11) Rear package tray

12) door swithes

I still Have to buy a new HVLP gun, get some more black paint, CD deck, power antenna, and figure out how to get my wiper motor working consistantly. Then I'll be done with everything cept for the trunk, suspension, and rear end.

$1400?? Dude that's chump change! I dropped over $9k in one day, ordering engine components, interior & exterior parts, tires & wheels,etc, just before getting my '66 back from the paint shop. I though it might hurt less doing it in one big shopping spree, but it didn't...

Good luck with the car, and know that this is just the beginning... these cars are like needy women.

Chump change? You want to get into that...lol

I spent 15k in two weeks. I honestly thought it would be so much fun to do it...but it was STRESSFUL!

Anyway, Oboe, enjoy the new stuff. Interior newbies are the BEST!! You see it more than any other part of your car...well except the hood.

We want pics when you're done!

Gee thanks guys. I was just going thru post purchase withdrawals about the $2400 I spent on brakes. Now I don't feel so bad. But I have a long ways to go.

I'm just about to drop $1500 on a car that is by all accounts perfect. Thats the drug though, isnt it? You can just never leave them alone. Most of my money is being spent on suspension and handling upgrades so $1500 is not a lot of money for that really.

Geez Brian, those big body interiors are expensive! I restored my interior for less than $1000, and that included a color change.

It'll be worth it though. Its just amazing to see how far your car has come in such a short time.

I agree, you should be very proud. I know there are a lot of us on here who are fixing up our Mustangs, but think of how special it is to bring a piece of history back from the dead.

Whenever I get bummed out that it is taking so long to finish my Mustang, I go back and look at what it was in the very first pics I took of it. That always amazes me, and gives me a little boost.

So everyone give yourselves a pat on the back...good job.

Hey dolphan.... How was the install on your Baer brakes? Did you do the rear also? One thing I'm wondering about is whether the mounting surfaces will be exactly the same or not when switching from the drums on all four corners. My wheel and tire package is a tight fit and I'm curious if it changes a little. My kits are on order.

I haven't installed them yet. I am WAITING on TCP to get me my upper control arms. I wouldn't worry at all. There have been a lot of these kits installed, and I watched Mustangs and Fords do the four wheel set up on a 69 and it went really well for them.

I did a custom disc set up on the rear, not from Baer. It uses the Lincoln Mark 7 rotors, with Caddy calipers.

Thanks all for the comments. Of course there will be several more detail'ed 'write-ups' of the progress. There is just soooo much to get done in the next 1-2 months for all the shows. It's very intimidating and exciting at the same time!

Good luck with this project, but don't set a timeline for completing it; especially with the upholstery. Its too easy to make a mistake that you'll regret later. Just take your time and be patient.

Dont' worry, I always document every step of the restoration along with doing tons of research prior. So it takes a while to do that. But then again i'm a fast worker but believe in doing things right the first time around.

I'm also now getting help from my friends and family so i can personally tackle the large items while my posse is doing the small stuff (paint stripping and repainting parts, screwing in door sill plates, etc.)
