whell, we took it for a test drive, the guy let us go alone, he dont drive manual so good, so after like 2 miles we switched off, and all i can say is damn...the car does have some nut....there an lt1 rated at 285 hp... it was raining, so i couldent really launch, but it spun 1st, 2nd, but third, it wouldent spin, whell possible if i sidesteped. Anyhow, All i can say is I love that 6-speed, so smooth. But, its such a pig i think with what my car has now(not much) i could at least keep up...

My car just had gears and and exhaust in 1995, and I drove my Step bro's 95 Z28 Auto, (mine is auto too). I was amazed at the difference between his stock, and my fairly stock car. You can just imagine the LS1's now...6 speeds.

You won't keep up with the mods you have listed.

His car would keep up with an LT1. I raced a similar LT1 Z28 a while back with very similar mods only mine is an AODE and I was barely edging him out. But again, who's faster depends on so much more than who has what mods. The variables are endless.

yeah, i think i can keep up, this IS a LT-1, but i was just amazed at how nice that 6 speed is on it. As far as power, i got 2nd in the rain with it, it really dident want to catch 3rd, and my car can do the same, and also get 3 rd, and i ahve a 5 speed, as far as power, it basically has the same seat of the pants pull, but we'll see when he actually gets the car in a couple weeks, and we drag....hopefully i get the win!

With 3.73s and full exhaust i think he will take that LT1 to the house. With and edel intake he wont have a worry in the world.

He also said the z28 driver couldn't drive stick that well. So keep that in mind when they're racing.

I wouldn't race him at the strip. You don't have a good converter or a transbrake. If he had a sticky tire, it would be all over.

LT1s come pretty fast stock. My friend has a 96 and with minor mods he dynoed at 283 rwhp sae corrected. Those cars haul ass. Too bad its a pain for them to work on there car. My friend just put his LTs on a 97 TA and it took him 3 days, and its not cuz he doesnt know how to do it.
