Well I just drove from Seattle to Phoenix over the weekend in my 94 Mustang. I've spent over 6 months building the 347 stroker that's in it. To those who say that 347's burn oil, you're wrong! It ran really well, didn't burn a drop of oil. Too well actually... I got a speeding ticket in northern California.
The only problem I had was with engine heat. I think in my rush to get it ready to drive back to school, I put the thermostat in backwards! But that's a pretty easy fix, so tonight I'm going to check that out. Driving from Los Angeles to Phoenix through the desert with the heat blasting out of the vents is NOT fun.
Here are the specs for anyone who is interested: Forged Eagle rotating assembly, forged SRP pistons, Canton 7 quart T-sump oil pan with windage tray and main girdle, high volume oil pump, Trick Flow High Port heads, Track Heat intake, "custom" Anderson N-412 camshaft, 1.7 Trick Flow roller rockers, 70mm Edelbrock throttle body, 80mm Pro-M MAS, BBK equal length shorty headers, and probably some other stuff I'm forgetting.
The car has the stock H-pipe with cats and stock catback until I pass an emissions test in AZ, then I'll be installing an off-road X-pipe and probably some flowmasters. Anyone know anything about AZ emissions testing? Anyone I can slip a little cash to that will pass me? Well sorry for the long post, just wanted to say that 347's kick ass, and that was one hell of a drive.
Edit: I forgot, 30lbs injectors, Mallory fuel rails and AFPR, 255lph fuel pump.
