When I start my car in the morning I get a dry start in my valve train. Then it goes away after a 10th of a second. Oil pressure is within specs. I have tried Lucas oil treatment but by next oil change it is gone. Lucas works when added. However Im looking for another alternative. I use Castrol conventional oil.
How is Z-Max? Slick 50? Or will switching to full synthetic fix problem?

I'm not familiar with your mods off hand. Stock pedestal mount rockers, or aftermarket pedestal/stud?

Never had that problem at all. Some oil "should' stay on all the parts when stopped. I use Mobil 1 full synthetic 5W-30 now, but I've used other brands of 5W-30 without problems. My first thought was worn bearings/tolerances but you'd also have low oil pressure too.
