DSS Super pro bullet

im looking into getting the DSS 331 super pro bullet shortblock in february. they say it is good for 650hp. it still uses a factory 5.0 block, and they say with theyre support system that it will support 650hp. ive seen the horror of a high hp 302 and the split down the center, but they swear by theres. what are your guys thoughts on this shortblock?

To me it is like trying to solve a leak with some caulking... it'll help but it ain't a guarantee...

I wouldn't expect to get that kind of HP through any stock 5.0 block for long... If you are a few k miles per year it will prob be OK but only with the safest of tunes...

For the money get a dart block or a BOSS block, you will be HAPPIER in the end without any worries.

I have a DSS pro-bullit and it has the main support and all. I like the CNC idea and the work is good as far as I could tell.

I do not at think that any CNC or main support will make the block handle more power. It may help hold the parts together lessening the damage to the rotating assem. but I do no feel they will make a stock block hold more power.

For the price...2k for a shortblock its a good deal if you wanting to keep it under 500hp. If your wanting 500hp and more...start looking for a better block.

Just be aware that just for a dart/Boss/world block on the cheap side your looking at around $1500 EASY but plan on $2000 for quality machine work on just one of those blocks. It is WELL worth it.
