Hi Guys,

I just ordered a SCT Livewire Tuner for my 04 mustang gt (5spd).
My Mods: Steeda high flow intake (CAI), Summit underdrive pulleys, MAC O/R X Pipe, Magnaflow Mangapack catback, Richmond 4.10 gears w/ Alloy 31 spline axles, and a Cobra dif.

I have to fill this thing out afterwards. It is asking:

Do you want a dual-stage rev limiter?
If Yes, please indicate launch RPM in the final Comments section.

What is this? Do I need it? If so, what is a good RPM to set it to?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

It's a two step! Basically it makes it so when you are stopped your rev limiter is lower, like 4000rpm, or whatever you want... So you HOLD the gas pedal down and it holds it at that RPM, then all you do is dump the clutch and then that turns off automatically once the car gets to 1mph and it allows you to rev fully to your redline. It's good for launching so you don't bog and/or dont spin the tires

Yes, but you have to have the launch control option turned on in the tune by a tuner first before the adjustments will work - or you can use the consumer end software from SCT...but I've never ever been able to get it to work on any of my computers with any of my tunes lol...

Thanks for the info...I had a custom tune on my car from my build about a year ago, so I never messed with the tuner personally. This thred gave me the motivation to play with it a little tonight. Ended up turning my idle down which resulted in my car sounding much more badass . Although I have a very unique situation. Apparently my car used to be a auto but the guy before me switched it to a manual (found that out a couple years ago) so the computer in my car is for an auto. Resulting in the tuner set up to tune an auto. So I don't know if I can do the 2 step now..
