Dumb Convertible lx 5.0 fuse box question

This is a dumb question but do most(87-93) convertible fox bodied mustangs have their fuse boxes right by your left leg (where you kick it all the time till it breaks off!!!!) This is the only vert fox that I've been in and I've almost detroyed it. The plastic cover is now rubber banded on. Any thoughts?

Rockin, are you like 8 feet tall? J/K. that is the normal location. i have not had real issues with it, so i dont know what to tell ya.

i meant no disrespect (my tongue was planted firmly in my cheek as i said what i did in the first post).

i just have not heard of that problem. now my leg does not fit under the steering wheel (27" quads). if i have something in my pocket, it gets crushed as i pass the leg by. and i cant hit the clutch straight from the top (wheel is in the way), so i have to hit the clutch pedal from the side. so i feel your pain. we just have different pains.

they do sell oem covers and billet ones (IIRC). one of those might work. i might even use hook and loop (velcro) or something like that on it. one could probably carefully put a screw or two in it. just dont put a screw through the fusebox or any wiring. just lame ideas.

Well, the fuse box in my convertible just hangs down and I can easily bang it with my shin but the box in my notchback is nicely tucked away. Weird..

the fuse box itself hangs down? if so there are a couple screws that hold it up. i might fix that.

hmm, I've never really bothered to fix it but since it's about to fall off I think I should get rollin. Again, thanks for your insight on my posts Hissin50.

I have a fox vert and a SN 95 vert and I have had nothing like that happen. You must have big feet or the box was broke already. I would strap that thing up with some wire ties if it is no longer connected.

I had the same thoughts 4d, zip-ties have saved me many times before. I use them to hold up my front plates and I had a couple of them hold up part of the exhaust system on an old Taurus I used to have.

we all know that that you use old coat hangers on exhaust stuff, not zip ties.

putting the screws back in might be better - that way when you have to put a fuse in or remove one, the whole box wont move. although, with zip ties you can permanently do a goose test on your fuse box.

Hahahaaha!!! Actually I'm going to bondo my entire exhaust system to my car. It's going to increase the weight of the car but I'm thinking I could mold the excess bondo and make it look like I have a body kit!!!

The fuse box cover in my 'vert broke after I acidentilly kicked it 4 or 5 times. It hangs low. The '87-'89 cars have the fuse box in a different place (in the dash, not under it). The introduction of the Airbag moved the fuse box down where it gets kicked from time to time.

After the fusebox cover broke on my car, I never kicked the thing again. I think the tab to remove the cover is what you're kicking. That's where mine broke. I haven't had the cover on my car for 4 years.
