Dumb suspension question (lowering)

OK, This summer my plan is to rebuild and modify my foxes suspension. Currently I'm still researching what I need to do/change.

Thing is the previous owner had told me that the car had been lowered 1.5" but later I ran into the guy who actually did a lot of the work on the car before the PO bought it and he didn't remember it being lowered, not that doesn't mean it wasn't done after the car left his hands.

What would be the best way to determine if it has been lowered and by how much?

Also if anyone could explain/link me to all that should be done to a fox to properly lower it, that would help a lot with figuring out if it was done correctly and if not what needs to be done to fix it/ un do it.

I lowered my car with ford racing springs. It lowered it about an inch and you can stick 2 fingers betwen tires and wheel wells. Thats just to give you an idea. there is no real "proper way" to lower your car. I guess the only thing you want to be aware of is, Note where your pigtails are sitting in the purches and depending how low you lower your car You may need caster and camber plates. My foxbody didnt need them with the amount i lowered it. My 03 cobra which i lowered with eibach pro kit didnt need cc plates either. That was an inch and a quarter drop. It was close but I didnt need them. Just get your alignment checked. CC plates arent cheap. They can cost up to 300 bucks.

different colored springs is a good give away, but if he used the c springs i think there the same color as the stock springs.

tires size will close the gap between the tire and fender so because your tire is close to the fender doesn’t always mean it’s been lowered.

someone here has to still have the stock springs, and probably the same size tire you're running get a measurement from them and compare but then

The car should be between 26.5" to 27" tall at each fender. .
