All I have on my mustang for exhaust is Flowmaster 40series and I plan on getting headers soon and also dumps... exhaust is something I definetly dont know much about hence why I am posting this question. Where can I get them and about how much?

i just went down to the local autozone and picked up a set of the turn downs that they had. they were dirt cheap like 8 bucks a piece. then i just had them welded right on to the end of the muffler. good luck

sorry about the size, HQ digital camera.

Those are my flows with turndowns.

Right on... fumey but loud. I didn't even bother with turndowns, just sawzalled 'em right off behind the muffs. Not a recommended proceedure. One of these days I'll finish it off with some tips of some kind, maybe out the sides or something...

Ahhh, you've got stock turn down's like everyone else's. That's not so bad. What we're referring to is dumping the exhaust right after the muffler in front of the rear axle. That'll make her louder and smellier!

I had mines like that but I couldn't stand it. The damn frame was acting like a bass box! I went and bought the cobra bumper and got the lx tail pipes. I love the look and the sound.

i used to have turndowns right after the muffler. 2 problems w/ it. The first being while cruising in 3rd/4th gear (AOD) it was a very loud drone. Secondly, when i went for emission tests they said they couldnt do it cuz the hoses for the exhaust was too close to the rear axle and didnt wanna tangle it up and such.

o0o, and w/ the turndown i got offset inlet/center outlet. I then had to get new mufflers for offset/offset for the tail pipes to clear. If ya still want turndows, i have my 40 series 2 chamber flowmasters w/ turndows welded on for sale. Ill sell em both for $60(thats the cost of just one)+shipping if interested.

Jesus Christ that picture is HUGE, making stupid hard to read this thread. lol. Anywho. I have turndowns... and my car is stupid rich... The fumes isn't all that bad. I'm used to it though. I never liked my car with tailpipes...When I got my car, it had tailpipes, then I put dumps on.. then I got tailpipes again.. then went to dumps again... and then tailpipes... lol you get it.. I spent money for three sets of tail pipes... just to go back to dumps again. I like it.. Sounds much better at idle, and yes.. it's bassy in the car at idle.. but it sounds sweet. The combo of the cam/flows/x-pipe is loud... Sets off car alarms all the time driving in a parking lot. lol

How much fun was it snaking them through your panhard bar? That's why I cut mine in the first place :D I liked the look of my Cobra rear a lot more when there where tips sticking out too.

I love my dumps. I don't have any problem with exhaust fumes. Hatch back with dumps are a lot louder inside then coupes. My buddy has Mac pro dumps on his hatch and there considerably louder inside then mine my coupe. He has Mac Long tubes headers with pro chamber and pro dumps and I have BBK equal length with Flows 2 chamber. But you get out of the car and my car is 10 times louder then his.
