I heard the vacuum advance was adjustable on the Duraspark distributor. Is that true, if so which way does one turn the allen wrench to either advance or retard the vacuum advance?

The '74 shop manual says that the vac advance is adjustable (clockwise to increase, ccw to decrease). Apparently Duraspark was optional on some 1974 vehicles.

The '77 manual doesn't really say, just states that no adjustments are to be made other than setting initial timing.

Thanks Cobraman, Crane makes an adjustable one for the Duraspark so I'll probably just get that.

That's a coincedence!
last night I ordered the crane vacuum advance from Jeg's.
The part number is CRA99607-1, and Jeg's lists it at 22499607-1
with shipping from Fedex came to $48
I tried to find a stock new one everywhere else, with no luck.
At least I'll have it by saturday, and it's adjustable using different springs.
