duraspark II question

ok, as i look at this diagram below it has the white and red wires on the one plug. from what i see the red wire would go to a relayed 12V source (battery?) and the white wire to a switched ignition source right? just trying to figure all this out before i go carbd. i have the entire wiring harnes from an old 84 V8 car so having the wiring isnt a problem. let me know what you think:shrug:

The red and white wires that power the box come directy from the ignition switch. One is power to the ignition in the start position, and one is power in the run position. Basicly the same as ignitions for the last 60 years or so.

Duraspark use 12 v to the box in both start and run, but 12 v to the coil only in start. Note the resistor wire that coil power goes through in run. This should be in the harness if you have all of it back to the ignition.

I would use the Duraspark, vice the HEI, but to each his own.
